Garden Club!

Another brain child of first grade teacher Anne Cyr, Skillin Elementary school runs two garden clubs a year. There is a fall session and a spring session of the garden club. The students learn about tending to a garden, planting, weeding, pruning, and what different plants need to thrive. The students help to care for the garden that they get to enjoy on a daily basis. The club is open to students in 3rd through 5th grade. Look forward to seeing a sign up come out in the red totes for both sessions. Below are some pictures of students working in the gardens.

Preparing for Spring
This group of third through fifth graders are members of the Gardening Club who stay after school one day a week to work in the Learning Gardens.Jen Allaire and Meg Pearson, SKillin teachers, also lend their support to the Gardening Club. This fall’s efforts have included mulching the outdoor classroom, weeding, and improving the nature trail with woodland plants.
